It is so hard to believe that we are entering the first week of March already! What a week this was with Student-Led conferences, Early Dismissal, and a Writing Benchmark. It has been a hard-working and rewarding week all-in-one. Thank you to all of you for supporting your child and coming in and allowing them time to share all of their successes. We had some conferences go for 45 minutes! The students were amazing and really took pride in showing you all the great things they are doing. I also appreciate the conversations that you created with your child on reflecting on how they can continue to improve and stay strong in their learning! Here are some upcoming events to know about: Progress reports go home, February 26th. There are 2 weeks left before the end of the 9-weeks. Binders will come home so be sure to look through each subject and see if there are any updates/changes needed. Thank you to those who go through and catch errors. I have encouraged your children to question me on answers! Some students need to actually organize their binder! They will find it helpful when looking for things! I informed the students- those who do at least 30 minutes of Think Through Math between now and Wednesday, March 2nd, will get to have lunch with me! Don’t forget to visit the SMORE under CLASSROOM NEWS for more information on upcoming events and deadlines! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Cordially, Mrs....

Wow, what a fast a furious week, this 4-day week seems to be! We have been busy learning about telling time, time intervals, and looking at elapsed time. Be sure to have your child continually telling time on an analog clock and practicing time such as, “how many more minutes until bed, dinner, homework, etc.” In reading we are just beginning to work on our autobiography. The students will be developing a timeline to coincide with the events they placed on their homework. I think they are going to enjoy working on this! Next week will be another fast and furious week with two days of early dismissal. DON’T forget that your child will be sharing all of the great things they are doing and what goals they have to make the rest of 3rd grade a success. Here are a few things to know: Updated newsletter- Third Grade has moved to an on-line form of the newsletter. You will be viewing the newsletter through SMORE. The great news, it is still linked to my “Classroom News”, just click and read. I think you will see it is much easier to find what you are looking for in our newsletter. Don’t forget to be using Think Through Math and Istation to enhance your child’s math and reading skills. They are very helpful tools and can be accessed off of my “web links”. Please be sure to check your child’s agenda daily. I have been having some behavior issues occurring more frequently and therefore more agenda signatures are happening. Don’t hesitate to email or call me if you...

They are really seeing how important the strategies are for them to use. We will be working weekly in small groups to reinforce the skills we are learning.
